It’s been 13 years since their debut and Halestorm are currently on tour promoting their new studio album, Back From The Dead, an 11-song riff-laden monster.
The band’s rise may have been cut short by Covid-19, but earlier in the year we described Lzzy Hale and his bandmates as what modern rock stars look like.
Tonight’s show featured The Pretty Reckless, The Warning and Lilith Czar as backing and you can read our report here.
The lights went out in Baltimore and the band stood against the light atop the drum riser. Slowly the music picked up and Halestorm took the stage with the title track from their latest album, Back From the Dead.
Arejay, behind his drums perched atop the tiered riser, propelled the band through the night with his powerful beats.
Playing eight songs from their fifth and final release Back From the Dead, plus favorites like Love Bites (So Do I), Mz Hyde and I Miss The Misery, Lzzy and the boys were definitely here to rock.
A highlight of the set was a song from the new release, the ballad Raise Your Horns, in which Lzzy encouraged the crowd to never be ashamed of who and who they are, to never let the others tell them how to live their lives and raise their horns for all to see.
Halestorm ended the night with the encore of a trio of songs – Here To Us, Freak Like Me and absolutely shredded Joe and Lzzy, trading licks on new track The Steeple, a No. 1 hit for the band.
It may have taken twenty years to get there, but the time for Halestorms is now. The arenas of the world are ready and waiting to be conquered. Raise your horns indeed!
